I’ve just had the details through for the next Trafford Cycle Forum. As the website hasn’t updated yet, here’s the agenda.

On 22 January, Trafford Council published the results of the Stretford public realm consultation, on their website. Here, you can find a presentation, summary of the results and the full report, containing the responses.

On the Saturday just gone, I paid my first visit to the Platt Fields Bike Hub, to help out with fixing bikes as part of the Rolling Through Winter event. I don’t often go to Platt Fields, as I don’t live locally. The times I have been there in recent years, it has been when the bike hub has been shut, so I’ve not had chance to see what’s going on.
On 19 January, I joined a number of people at the Normalising Cycling workshop at the always pleasant Popup Bikes. Seriously, if you’ve not already been to Popup Bikes, and you like cycling and coffee, you should definitely stop by for a visit.
This weekend we had a family visit to York, mainly for another trip to the rather good National Railway Museum, which the kids always enjoy. While I didn’t get chance to ride in York myself, I did notice a few things about cycling in the city.
While out on a family ride on the Fallowfield Loop, making the most of a rare day of sunshine this December, I had chance to have a look at the progress on the Wilmslow Road Cycleway alongside Platt Fields Park. Continue reading “Progress on the Wilmslow Road Cycleway – December 2015”

After I finished on the Fallowfield Loop today, I headed along Wilmslow Road into Manchester to have a look at progress on the Wilmslow Road Cycleway. Continue reading “Progress on the Wilmslow Road Cycleway – October 2015”
It’s been a while since I’ve been on the Fallowfield Loop. Not really sure why really, particularly as I love old, converted train lines. With the other half and kids away for the weekend, I had the opportunity to make the most of a rather pleasant autumn day, get on the bike and explore. Round the corner from Old Trafford football stadium on Railway Road. There’s a little bit of filtered permeability that’s just become a little brighter, courtesy of rather wonderful Gorgeous Gorse Hill and local artist Caroline Daly. As you can see below, the bollards feature bikes and bike components, in-line with their purpose. Continue reading “Brightening up some filtered permeability in Stretford”
