July 26, 2018January 4, 2026 Dom Cycling

On our penultimate day at Duinrell, I had chance to head out for a bike ride while the rest of the family headed for a different kind of ride in the theme park. Looking for somewhere new to go, I set my sights on Zoetermeer, having never been there before.  Continue reading “Netherlands 18: The route to Zoetermeer”

Netherlands 18: The route to Wassenaarse Slag

July 17, 2018January 4, 2026 Dom Cycling

No trip to Duinrell would be complete without a visit or two to Wassenaarse Slag, the closest beach to the holiday park. The beach is just a short 5km away from Duinrell, and the sand goes on for miles. Continue reading “Netherlands 18: The route to Wassenaarse Slag”

Netherlands 18: The route to Madurodam

July 15, 2018January 4, 2026 Dom Cycling

We spent the second week of our Netherlands 18 trip at the place that’s starting to feel like our second home, Duinrell. We’ve been going to Duinrell for quite a few years now. There’s many reasons why we go, one of which is the proximity of places like Madurodam.

Netherlands 18: A ride on the Houtribdijk

July 9, 2018January 4, 2026 Dom Cycling

The Dutch are renowned for their skills at reclaiming land and controlling the sea, they’ve been doing it for centuries. For the second year of the HSBC sponsored Let’s Ride event, we were treated to a completely new route. For the past few years, the route has gone from the city centre to Salford Quays. This year, the new route took us down Oxford Road to Whitworth Park, to the south of the city. Continue reading “Let’s Ride Manchester – July 2018”
