Regular readers will no doubt be familiar with our yearly trips to the holiday and amusement park Duinrell in the town of Wassenaar. In 2025, instead of staying at an additional location in the Netherlands as we had done for a number of years, we’d arranged to spend the full two weeks at Duinrell.

Being just a short 15 minute ride from Duinrell, the beach at Wassenaarse Slag is a must-visit for anyone staying at the holiday park. Certainly, when we’re there, we make sure we save any sunny days for a trip to the beach.

2017 saw us back in Duinrell for what was our seventh visit. I’ve covered Wassenaarse Slag previously in a post from 2015, though that was the route from The Hague. This was our seventh trip to the Netherlands as a family, we’ve been there a number of times before kids too. Previously, we’ve stayed with friends in Amsterdam, camped in a number of the large European style campsites and Duinrell. This was our first time staying in The Hague, where we chose to spend the first five days of our trip.
