As someone who regularly passes through Didsbury and Parrs Wood, on my way to Cheadle as part of my commute. I’ve been watching the progress of the Mersey Valley and Stockport Cycleway, and have previously posted my impressions of the Stockport Cycleway.
To start with, I must say, I’m more than pleased to see actual real cycle infrastructure being installed in Manchester. I’d be even more pleased if it were installed where I live. But hey ho, you live and hope.

This weekend we had a family visit to York, mainly for another trip to the rather good National Railway Museum, which the kids always enjoy. While I didn’t get chance to ride in York myself, I did notice a few things about cycling in the city.

Round the corner from Old Trafford football stadium on Railway Road. There’s a little bit of filtered permeability that’s just become a little brighter, courtesy of rather wonderful Gorgeous Gorse Hill and local artist Caroline Daly.
