In a surprising break from our usual habit of holidays in The Netherlands, we headed to Normandy for our 2019 summer holiday, taking the Eurotunnel and driving down to the seaside town of Houlgate in Calvados. We stayed in a mobile home at Camping Village La Vallée.

We brought the bikes along, as is the custom when we go away, though we were a little apprehensive about what the conditions for cycling would be like, having never ridden in France with the kids.

These posts cover the campsite and Houlgate, then the nearby towns of Dives-sur-Mer and Cabourg, which we visited on our bikes during our stay.

Camping Village La Vallée and Houlgate

We were staying in the seaside town of Houlgate in Calvados, at Camping Village La Vallée. While this is a campsite, we were actually staying in an Al Fresco Holidays mobile home.
